Tokio Marine Kiln is waving goodbye to one of its most highly regarded figures as Nick Sinfield heads into retirement – but it believes it has found an able replacement.
Tobin Ryan takes the helm as the company’s new head of claims, having previously been head of property and special lines claims at the firm. He is set to head-up a newly created claims executive team that consists of Laura Hollingsworth, head of claims operations; Lee Bennett, head of the newly formed delegated claims team; Patrick Cannon, head of enterprise risk and casualty claims; and Victoria Joslin, head of property, marine and aviation claims.
“I am honoured to be head of claims for TMK, which underscores our philosophy of developing talent and promoting from within,” said Ryan. “TMK is entering very exciting times and I am delighted to be part of a company with such a strong business strategy and vision for the future. Our claims team is number one in the market in the Gracechurch survey following independent research of the broking community, and we remain committed to providing an outstanding claims service and building strong and enduring relationships with our brokers and clients.”
Sinfield, meanwhile, originally joined the firm as group head of claims back in 2015, and, according to deputy CEO Nick Hutton-Penman, leaves the firm in an exciting position.
“Nick retires from TMK leaving the claims team in an exceptionally strong position and with significant depth of talent in the management team who I am confident will take the claims department forward,” he said. “I would like to thank Nick for his outstanding contribution to TMK and wish him a very long and happy retirement.”
