North Melbourne football club legend Glenn Archer is part of a group selling this Seminyak Villa in Bali, Indonesia.
North Melbourne Football Club legend Glenn Archer has unexpectedly found himself in a new venture as a Balinese property developer.
The three-time All Australian and double Premiership winner recently got the keys to a villa he, his business partner and a Bali-based builder friend of theirs had been planning to use as a holiday destination.
But having enjoyed watching it come together so much, the 1996 Norm Smith Medallist and his group are now negotiating to buy a bigger plot so they create two even larger holiday getaways.

“I never thought I’d be doing this,” Archer said.
“But there’s a lot of expats and Australians who do.”
The ex-footballer added that it was also surprisingly easy to build new homes in Bali compared to Australia, so long as you had a local friend to put their name to the title as only Indonesian citizens can own land in the island paradise.
A sunken lounge creates a welcoming spot to relax when its too hot outside.

“What I have learned from the first one is that it’s a lot easier to build in Bali than it is here,” Archer said.
“You don’t have to deal with land tax issues. There’s no red tape, you buy some land and you build. It’s quite amazing how easy it is, and they are such good workers.
“I would encourage other Australians to go and do it.”
Their first villa in central Seminyak is listed with a wallet clenching six-billion Rupiah price tag in Indonesia’s local currency, though it is a more achievable $594,000 Australian at current exchange rates.
The three-bedroom, three-bathroom villa on a 115sq m allotment features multiple living zones, a pool and outdoor entertainment space.

In-pool bar stools and deck chairs have a line of site to outdoor TVs.
Archer added that after travelling to the holiday hot spot since he was 16, he was looking forward to getting a home away from home on Bali.
“We have been going there for years, and love it, so we were going to use it ourselves,” he said.
“I was genuinely looking forward to the living area with the sunken lounge and the big, 65-inch screen TV you can watch from the pool and the pool area.”
Ray White Kuta are handling the sale of the home that is 800m from Petitenget Beach and about 300m from La Favela.
The villa’s kitchen is fit out to entertain a crowd.
Stone-look walls in the bathroom create a rustic, Bali look.
With a stools to sit on in the pool and enjoy a beer, stone walls, timber ceilings and a double-storey floorplan, the villa is expected to attract buyers from Australia as well as from the Indonesian main island of Java.
