This traditional two-bedroom, two-bathroom cottage is in the old town of Ibiza, the largest city on the Balearic island of the same name.

Called Dalt Vila, the fortified old town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, sits on a hill above contemporary Ibiza Town, a port on the Mediterranean Sea known for its vibrant nightlife and dance clubs. Dalt Vila is characterized by classic whitewashed dwellings with small windows in a labyrinth of cobblestone streets and alleys. More than 2,500 years old, the coastal fortress city has 16th-century ramparts with impressive portals and bastions, featuring such historic gems as the Castle of Ibiza and a striking cathedral dedicated to Santa María, the patron saint of Ibiza.

There are plenty of restaurants, bars and boutiques in Dalt Vila, along with galleries and museums. Transportation is by car, taxi or bus. Dalt Vila is about six miles northeast of Ibiza Airport.

The room has ceiling beams, along with both whitewashed and exposed stone walls with decorative niches. A built-in bench is adorned with blue and white tiles. The apartment is steps away from Cala Martina, a sandy beach popular with families and water-sports enthusiasts. The Punta Arabí Hippy Market is nearby, as is the Cala Pada jetty, where ferries connect to Formentera, another Balearic island to the south.

While there are some restaurants and hotels in S’Argamassa, most essential services are in Santa Eulària des Riu, a coastal town a few miles to the southwest. The town offers attractions including a seafront promenade, a fortified 16th-century church called the Puig de Missa, a yacht marina and an artisans market. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and beaches, along with bus service. Ibiza Airport is about 16 miles southwest.
