Willis Takes Donnelly From Marsh to Head North America Risk & Broking

Willis said it has hired veteran leader Pat Donnelly as head of risk & broking (R&B) in North America.

    Pat Donnelly

Donnelly had been president, Marsh specialty and global placement – a position he held since the middle of 2023 when he was moved from his role as president of Marsh’s US business. Prior to that, Donnelly was head of Marsh Specialty for Marsh US and Canada since 2019 when JLT was acquired by Marsh.

Earlier in his career, Donnelly was the CEO of JLT Specialty in North America, where he successfully built the company’s U.S. retail business. He also spent time at Aon, where he was chief broking officer for U.S. retail.

Donnelly will be based in Chicago and is expected to join Willis, a WTW business, in the second quarter of 2025. He will report to Lucy Clarke, president, R&B.

Clarke in statement said Donnelly’s leadership “will be instrumental in driving growth, continuing and strengthening our specialist approach and ensuring that we deliver exceptional service and value to our clients.”
